Cedar Lake Conservation Club Hosts Native Plant Sale

May 19th, 2014: Annandale, Minn. – On Saturday, June 7th, 2014, the Cedar Lake Conservation Club will host a Native Plant Sale and Score Your Shore event, located at 8986 84th St NW, Annandale, MN 55302.

Native plants, especially along shorelines, provide a number of benefits to the lakes and stream we love. They provide habitat for all sorts of critters, and improve water quality by acting as filters and buffers, as well as protecting shoreline from erosion. If you're thinking about adding some native plants to your property, come on out to this free event. A variety of native plants will be available for sale, provided by Natural Shore Technologies.

Staff from the MN Department of Natural Resources will be present to introduce the Score your Shore tool, a survey tool designed for shoreline property owners to quickly and objectively self-assess shoreline habitat and their treatment near-shore aquatic areas. Bring a photo of your property (best is looking at your lot from the water body), or come and practice scoring some other photos.
