13th Annual Purple Martin Fest and Nature Expo - June 6, 2015

May 7th, 2015: Annandale, Minn. – The 13th Annual Minnesota Martin Fest and Nature Expo will be held on Saturday June 6th, 2015 at Schroeder Regional Park located on Cedar Lake, 9201 Ireland Ave NW, Annandale MN 55302. Speakers at this year's event include Jim Gilbert, a Naturalist who hosts the Nature Notes at WCCO Radio 830. Jim will also be available for book signings. Kelly Applegate, Wildlife Biologist for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and the Director of the Minnesota Purple Martin Working Group and Carrol Johnson of MN Bluebird Recovery are also scheduled. Jake Janski of Minnesota Native Landscapes Inc. will give a presentation on Native Plants for Pollinators. At this event you can learn about the beautiful Wood Ducks, Chimney Swifts, native plants, pollinators, bees and butterflies. We will have kids activities, including a free make-your-own bird feeder. There will be native plants for purchase, along with bird houses, feeders etc. Door prizes will be given away and lunch will be served for a small fee.
