Pleasant Lake Outlet Control Structure Opened November 2nd, 2016

November 2nd, 2016: Annandale, Minn. – The water level at the Grass Lake Dam on Clearwater / Grass Lakes has dropped below 4.04 feet on the Grass Lake Dam Staff Gauge as of November 1st, 2016. Per the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources' permit for the operation of the Pleasant Lake Outlet Control Structure, the outlet was opened at 10:20am on on the 2nd. The outlet will be slowly opened to full capacity over the next couple of days in order to protect the downstream creek from erosion due to rapid release of flow. Residents on Pleasant Lake can expect water levels to drop due to the opening of the outlet. Currently, the lake is outletting via the Minnesota Department of Transportation culvert under State Highway 24 on the NE corner of the lake. The Clearwater River Watershed District will continue to monitor water levels at the Grass Lake Dam.
